Pavers Ltd, established in York 1971
by Catherine Paver. Cathie had always
found shopping for shoes difficult
because she could never find what she
wanted without trouble over the fitting.
Therefore Cathie, with the help of her
family, opened her own shoe shop in
Scarborough. This proved to be a great
success and soon similar shops followed
in York, Hull and Newcastle.

Pavers continued to open High Street
shops throughout the North and in 1996
they opened their first Outlet store in
North Shields, although discount footwear
retailers had been around for years, few
offered the brands which Pavers Outlet
stocked. This formula proved to be a
great success and again many more
followed.

Pavers continues to be family owned
and run by Cathie and her sons Stuart
Paver, MD, and Ian Paver, Buying Director.
