As a Sheffield department store that has served generations of Sheffielders since our inception 147 years ago, we're proud of our heritage and can truly say we've been inspired by our super surroundings here in South Yorkshire. That's why, on Monday 14th October 2019, we've decided to host the inaugral Atkinsons 'Inspired By Sheffield' event right here in store on The Moor.

We'll be welcoming guests from pop culture, the arts, and other local independent businesses to celebrate all that makes Sheffield great, and all that makes Atkinsons independent and individual.

Martyn Ware, of Heaven 17, will be in store to meet you - and sign memorabilia that you may wish to bring along. We'll also have Matt Cockayne, the artist behind Goo Design, exhibiting his artwork - which you'll also be able to buy on the day. Neil Anderson, author of the Atkinsons history book, and Dirty Stop Outs Guide to Sheffield nights out of the past - will be on-hand to sign copies of his latest books, which you can of course buy from us right here in store.

We'll also have Nicola Ogle, of Kelham Print, local gifting specialist showing off her wares. And, Stephen Nicholson, sculptor of magnificent art pieces made of local stone, of Natural Stone Carved Creations - demonstrating how his incredible work takes shape.

This promises to be an event not to be missed! If that wasn't enough there'll be special discounts on the day, because we know us folk from the Steel City love a discount, the opportunity to win in our competition - and it's all in support of Weston Park Cancer Charity, our chosen charity partner.

You can add the date to your diary, and inform us of your attendance, by visiting our Facebook Event page by clicking here.

'Sithi' then!
